This is funny but not to the owner...

I'm on the CTS V forum and came across this a while back and forgot to post it here for your amusement. Cliff notes: guy buys a 100 thousand CTSV it's 2 days old his wife asks him if she could take it to work you need to read the rest...:lol:

A few years ago, when I worked a compressed work week, I was off on Friday's. I say goodbye to the family, and roll back over in the bed. 2 minutes later, I hear screeching tires and a BAM! I thought my wife and kids had been in a wreck in front of our house. I run like hell out there, and oh HELL no. My wife takes a good running start backwards, not even fcuking looking, and bashes the front end of my truck in. What part of I pulled in behind her the night before, and what part of she didn't see, well, a big ass 4 wheel drive, 4 door F-150 behind her is still beyond me. Oh yeah, once I figured out everyone was ok, I was plenty damn pissed that she had taken her POS Exploder and curled my front bumper to the tire. It really took talent, and a superior lack of paying attention to ANYTHING.....

1. Taking a picture of your car with a gas nozzle in the filler neck is not an exciting picture.
2. Why would you let your wife take your new baby for a drive 2 days after taking delivery, and not supervise?
3. Why was her phone in her hand, and not in the cup holder in the first place? :toetap:

4. :funnier::funnier::funnier:

A car like that, I would take a huge amount of pride in taking care. So a ding, a nick, or something small I can see. That's something to easily happen. But noooo, she just ground the fukking entire side of the vehicle. Where in the dumb ass fukk is her driving abilities? Actually I already know, her car has to already show evidence of her not gaf. Ole boy has to already know that too. So, blame is all his. I feel bad for the car more than either of them.

I have a similar one. I had been married a few years, but my wife's sister had gotten married just a few months before. We lived in NJ, In-laws on Long Island, and sister in Boston, so both of the sisters decided to visit their parents one weekend. My new BIL brought his brand new BMW to show everybody, the car was maybe a month old if that. So we're all out there on Friday night, ooooing and aaaaahing at his new BMW, when he asks where he should park it to be out of everyone's way. My FIL points him to the far side of a very large driveway, and he parks it there.

7 am Saturday morning, my wife and I are awoken to the sound of a tremendous CRASH! We go outside, FIL had backed into the new BMW at such a high rate of speed, the whole side of the car was crushed in. FIL wouldn't talk about why he would have possibly gotten to that part of the driveway from where he was parked, or why he must have been traveling backwards at 25 mph or so IN THE DRIVEWAY.

A possibly interesting note: He is of Asian ancestry. :yesnod:

Wow. Haven't clicked on that forum in a while. That place was reason enough to sell the Caddy wagons. V owners may actually top Vette, BMW, Mustang, and Jeep owners on the list of biggest bunch of D-bags in the car world.

The first time my (now) wife drove my old C5Z she pulled into the driveway at about 20mph, Dukes of Hazzard style and ripped half of the subframe out from underneath the car. I was just by chance in the garage when she did it and got to witness the carnage. She got out clearly upset and apologizing. She helped me fix it and we laugh about it to this day. She drove "my" 10k mile Firehawk to work the other day. If she dings it, so be it. I've dinged them myself before and I'm sure I will again. She's already fighting me to drive the "new" Blazer when we get it.

I've never understood the "I don't let my wife drive MY car" thing. The Firehawk may be "mine" but it's OURS. Just like everything else we own. It's a car. Shit happens. When it does, you fix it.

And yes at the time, it was MY C5Z as we were not married yet. :D

P.S. I do still have a spare brand new C5 subframe in the basement if anybody needs one.

My wife doesn't drive the "my" car because, while I taught her to drive a manual transmission, she's not comfortable with them. The wife also says that she would be absolutely horrified if she took the car and something happened to it.

We have an "our" car and a "her" car, and she prefers that I drive when we go someplace together.

DAB 07-02-2018 2:25pm

Mrs. DAB never did drive my C5. and now she won't drive my chevy 2500 truck. too big for her. ok. but she has a key.

I completely understand if it's by choice, especially in the case of something like not being comfortable in a manual. I said previously that my wife just drove the Firehawk to work. Usually she doesn't drive it... because it's obnoxious, hot, and uncomfortable as hell in her opinion.

I was speaking about the "won't let" types with my post.

Having seen my wife park next to curbs and that she must be parking her car inside an aviary while she's at work, I must admit to some "won't let." :funny:

Eh, decent car, BUT do I consider it anything special???

NO......

shame to see it wrecked, but shit happens......

I get more upset over some car I actually built with my own hands than something off a floor.....

BUT having bought a little car for my daughter to go to screwal with, I leaned on the hood and talking to the car in front of her as I handed over the keys....
I said words like 'Little car, you have ONE job, Get my daughter through school in SAFETY!!'.....

:cert:

When my wife has something go wrong (on a much smaller level), she always starts off by saying "well?" Then I know its not good.
