My wife is one step away....

from being a U.S. citizen.

Today, she took her Naturalization test and passed. It has been 5+ years since this journey began and today, I finally feel like I can see the light.

I wish @island14 was here for this.

Congratulations to her, that's a nice accomplishment. :seasix:

I wonder how many of us could pass that test. Don't think I could...

I know how you feel. My wife came from Vietnam in 89 and in 96 she became a U.S. Citizen. Afterwards she told be she now feels like she has a country as her birth country of South Vietnam is no more. As for the test I doubt most born Americans could pass it.:cert:

Your stories and island14s were epic here ... congrats. On getting close anyway.

Very  It seems often immigrants are more appreciative to the first world than plenty of the entitled and spoiled natural born Americans.

Also, we went through all the legal steps for American citizenship for the wife. She sent me pictures of her oath taking ceremony. It was patriotic for me since I was on deployment, told my buddies, and showed the pictures.

Next step
Is wait on the date for her oath ceremony. At that time they give her an application for US passport and turn in her Philippines one as well as her visa and green card.
