Ten years ago tonight we lost our little grandson Lucas in a drowning accident. He was only three. I still miss that little fellow.Attachment 45862:sadangel:

This one was taken four days before he left us. I have that Buzz Lightyear in my display case.

How awful. So very sorry. I imagine 1 year, 10 years, 100 years doesn't ever make it easier. Very sad. :sadangel:

First I've heard of this, so sad. My sincere condolences.

Thank you, sir.
I joined here a few months after the accident. I have mentioned it before a few times around this date and his birthday (May 4). Try not to go there too often. I have thought about changing my avatar pic every year but just can't bring myself to do it.

Oh man, so sad. That Buzz Lightyear is priceless.

Dan Dlabay 07-28-2020 4:23am

May he rest in peace and be blessed by God.:sadangel:

I can’t imagine the pain of loosing a child or grandchild, so sorry that this happened. :sadangel:

:sadangel: I feel the same......in that I have 3 grandsons I very rarely see, one is 6 in Ca. the others are in Baltimore ages 1&4 :sadangel:

JetMechZ16 07-28-2020 8:36am

That is absolutely horrible. I couldn't imagine having to deal with that. :sadangel:

I understand though about the avatar. When my grandmother passed away at 96 I couldn't delete her phone number. Sometimes I'd call it and just let it ring. Finally my wife deleted it and initially I was mad, but before I could say anything to her I realized it was best. I couldn't do it and she had to, to allow me to move on. :sadangel:

My Mom passed May, 2014. I still have a couple of videos of her on my phone. I also have her answering machine.
After my Grandmother passed in '95 we kept her phone turned in for almost a year. I would call it occasionally just to hear her voice.

I remember that night like it was yesterday. Still very saddened by your loss. :sadangel:

We grieve deeply because we love deeply. I agree with keeping the avatar :yesnod:

SQUIRMIN VERMIN 84 07-29-2020 12:25am

I remember when I first saw your avatar and your record of what happened.
I was very touched and still to this day, when I see it I automatically think of
Lucas and whisper a 'Rest in Peace, little guy' to him.

That would be hard to take down. I think it's a great memorial for him and
it helps others to relate to the loss of young life and the consequent pain it
leaves in a family.

You're a good Granddad.

I have a small Buzz Lightyear that hangs from the mirror in my dd, along with a small teddy bear that my Mom had in her car.

Definitely keep it, it is a wonderful tribute. I have thought the same about my Facebook profile pic, my best friend that I lost 4 years ago, but his widow says keeping it is important to a lot of people
