Trump keeps Obama's campaign promise!

Seeing that Nashville has the highest population of Kurds outside of Syria, I feel bad for the ones left to fight now that we are abandoning them. The Kurds I have met are good people and love this country. I wish I knew more about the reasons we are handing everything over to Turkey.

I’m not too well informed about all the aspects of the situation, but, I think it’s because our “allies” were supposed to pull their fair share of maintaining the status quo, but have basically abandoned that duty to us alone. As usual. Trump is probably using this to leverage the western european countries into doing their fair share.

If we can't or shouldn't leave now, when is it that we CAN leave?

Do we need to be there another 10 years? 20 years? 100 years?

Look, at some point, we have to leave, and all the Muslims over there that can't get along with each other are going to be in exactly the same shape as when we found them....unable to get along. We were in Syria because, well mainly because George Bush invaded Iraq and destabilized the region, then Obama pulled out, allowing ISIS to form in the vacuum.

So, we aided in creating ISIS, our bad. OK, we led the charge and defeated ISIS. Everything should pretty much be back to where things were before.

Personally, everyone's worried about all the ISIS prisoners. I would have made the deal for us to pull out and the Saudis to enter, so they could Kashoggi the ISIS prisoner problem. Maybe that's what Turkey is going to do? I mean, why are all those prisoners even alive right now? Everybody hates them, and they're like poisonous snakes....not good for anything and dangerous if they ever get loose. If Turkey wants to drop bombs, I'd say the ISIS detention camps should be ground zero, after the guards have left, of course.

Just like Vietnam if we are not going to do what it takes to win then why put our men and women in harms way. A quote from President Reagan regarding Vietnam when he was presenting the MOH TO Roy Benavidez " These men did not lose the war they just were no allowed to win it"

I've spent some time in shit holes. Why continue to fight for fukks that have been fighting each other for hundreds of years? I'm just a knot head without any behind the scenes information. With that said and just on face value, I'm with Trump.

We trained them, fed them, equipped them and will likely continue to support them logistically. If they can't keep it together now without the "advisors" they're fukked anyway and we would be there forever. Time to stand tall, and do things on your own.

:iagree: We "inserted" ourselves into that mess and we just removed ourselves.

Let them continue to kill each other and we'll stand on the sidelines.

I agree. Let them have at it. If we stay there 100 years, we will not have accomplished a damn thing. I hate it for the Kurds, but they should have known this was coming at some point. We won't fix ANY part of the middle east ever. I felt from the very beginning, that Iraq was a terrible idea. Anyone with a pea for a brain knew what was going to happen, but W needed to get even for his Daddy since Saddam put a hit out on him. I'm sure Cheney got plenty rich too since damn near every contractor over there is tied to Haliburton. Johnny, we definitely got to participate in it, but I'm still trying to figure out exactly what America has gotten for the 8 trillion wasted over in all those countries, and still spending. Those people don't want things to be fixed. They have no value on human life, and are plenty happy killing each other right up until the point they have a common enemy. IE:us...

AND SO, it goes right back to my comments on this issue, as being correct.....

It started with Karter and Iran.......and we have gone with the complicated money making solutions for that entire islamic region.....

While the simple, quick, over in a week solutions are NEVER mentioned, except by ME......and I note that no one dares to debate my solutions, which to me says I am correct, dead nutz right ON!!!

and we don't even have to use nuclear bombs....at least to start with, OK so maybe one or two, depending on the site need attention.....

the tricky part is getting our personnel outta the region first, along with the folks from our critical strategic allies.....like eastern Europe, and yes that includes Russia.....believe it or not......and India of course, and any non islamic Africa areas.....

Europe in general will have a LOT of domestic wars/skirmishes from them due to being stupid and allowing them to colonize there.....and areas of this nation will have similar issues, WE will have to eliminate any and all mosques in this nation of course.....easy do, really.....spray pig grease and shit all over the joints......and YES I"m serious.....

BUT without the will power in the general population to get RID of islam, our grandkids will be still fighting this useless crap war, while I say just WIN.....

:issues:

We've screwed the Kurds for over 100 years.

And how is withdrawing 50 troops abandoning them?

And Turkey never should have become a member of NATO. Islam is not compatible with Western values.

What did we get? Biden's brother got a $150M contract to build houses in Iraq. I'd heard of that back in '10 but it was just barracks lawyers so I didn't have any proof. It turns out that shit was true. Go figure, the barracks lawyers were actually right for once. More, plenty of others got fat paychecks. Shit, the US even sent plane loads of cash....

More about houses in Iraq. To build $150M of houses in Iraq would be amazing. My guesstimate would be replacing all of Baghdad. :Jeff '79:

Kurds in Iraq, Kurds in Syria. It's the Syrian Kurds, aka the PPK, a Marxist/Leninist inspired outfit that are in danger of Turkish forces. They can go to Iraq if they are afraid for their lives. We fought with the Kurds in Iraq, but the Syrian kurds we are just providing a human shield from, uh, our NATO ally since 1952 - Turkey.

Pulling out of there is the right thing to do. We don't need to find ourselves in a situation where we are fighting Turkish forces and Turkey asks NATO for help against us. Yeah, it sucks for the PKK. I'm sure they have a real beef with the Turks but oh well.

You know that Obama/Hillary wanted Assad gone so they could build a pipeline from Iran to Turkey and eventually the EU, right? And that ISIS wasn't just created in a vacuum, Obama and Co. had them armed with some nasty weapons including Stinger missiles. Which came from Libya. You remember that place? Used to be the cork in the bottle in North Africa and is now the center of the African slave trade? Something something Benghazi.

The Democrats and neocons that hate Trump are just trying to get him out on a branch so they can saw it off. He decided to just climb down from the tree.

We fight endless wars because we use tactics that allow them to go on endlessly. We have the strength, the weaponry, the know-how to end ANY conflict in DAYS. We just worry too damn much about the "casualties of war". No one wants to see women and children killed, BUT...
1) They KNOW they live in a chaotic atmosphere with the enemy at the gates
2) Our soldiers are someone's women nd children too.

Get in, win, get out. If they can't maintain their control after we leave, they were doomed to fail anyway...with or without us.
