Bill, what just went BOOM in Houston?
|
islam?? probably.......:leaving:
|
Somebody ate too much at Taco Bell last night?
|
From what I saw on the local news this morning quite a few homes in the area were effected. I did not hear or feel it in S.W. Houston.
|
This was a manufacturing plant, sounds like they had a propylene gas
leak that must have ignited. No one hurt, nearby surrounding homes damaged from the shockwave of the explosion. Doesn't sound like Muslim terror, more likely just a garden variety industrial accident. Last I heard HFD had yet to be able to stop the gas leak, but it's venting harmlessly, since it's lighter than air. Perhaps the explosion actually self extinguished the fire by immediately consuming all the oxygen? The aerial footage clearly shows an explosion, but I saw no pics or video of fire, so it must have gone out pretty quick. |
They make industrial valves. Welding and grinding equipment. I am too far away to have felt anything, but it sure tore up some houses.

Update:
One employee as yet unaccounted for. Hope he's OK. https://www.click2houston.com/news/l...on-police-say/ Edit: Two confirmed dead. :sadangel: |

Propylene leak stopped, HFD will let a small fire burn itself out, vs. putting water on it and potentially spreading contamination.

I heard it this morning way out in Katy. Sad news.
