M4 GTS was back!
God I love that car. Trained the dad and his 18 year old daughter. She's got her shit together and learned to go fast quickly. :yesnod:
After she took her 100% lap, and then we changed seats for 1 lap, her next lap was EASILY 8 seconds faster than the previous one. We don't use timers on the novice school, but for someone who's been doing this for nearly 15 years, your butt dyno just knows. Dad was thrilled when he got to ride along with her. :seasix: |

Nigel (the car owner) lives in Michigan and owns a dealership up there. He and his daughter flew in for the weekend just to race with us. She has Monday off for holiday. They'll be out tomorrow. Will likely wring this thing out again tomorrow. Handling is off of the charts.

Remember the GT3 RS that backed into the rocks last year (when I blew up)?
Well, that one's now gone and here is the replacement. :hurray: Got to love a guy who's not afraid of beating on a $300k car. |
Daughter "almost" beat her father. She was faster the entire day until dad pulled out a lap out of his ass at the end, beating her by 1/10th of a second. She is definitely a natural and is now hooked, and will be seeking out autocross in Michigan. She's got a full ride to play soccer in college. She's a goalie, and has been playing since she was 3. I think she's naturally good because of the conditioned lightning reflexes, same as how 42 years of racquetball has helped make me fast behind the wheel. :yesnod:

BTW, Nigel owns 16 Corvettes. :leaving:

There's a guy in the club I used to be in who has 12 Corvettes, mostly various pace cars. He has the car Jay Leno drove to pace the Daytona 500. His wife says they are going to retire and sell them all at Barrett-Jackson soon. I don't think she's broke the news to him yet.
We had an orthopedic surgeon here who retired a few years ago who owns over 50 of them. All survivors, none restored. A lot of them are in upstate NY but he had about ten of them here. |
