Monday May Be The Day To Sell The Rip ~ Stocks~

Bitcoin is over 41k as I type so if that holds through Monday Morning, it'll be time to sell GBTC.
LAZR is on the move, so I have a sell order in at $36.98, but that might take until Tuesday.
:All ahead full in my 401k which is at a record high.
:ball:

Are you going to send DJT a thank you card?

DAB 02-06-2021 11:20am

many years ago, we were talking with our financial advisor guy, and i made the point that at some point, if you do things right, you can stop taking risks. for example, if you figure you need 50k/year for 40 years, and you get to 2M, well, that should cover you nicely, so you can stop taking risks and get out of the market.

he got this horrified look on his face.....

we have trimmed back some risk over time. :DAB:

I don't use money that I can't afford to lose.
As far as my 401k though, if you're not in it, you can't win it, so while I'm in a small cap fund and a index 500 fund, I can be out in a day if need be. That is up 4.5% ytd so far.
Until the Fed mentions the word tapering, I'm balls to the walls in.

I have averaged 15.5% in my 401k for the past 10 years.
DJT has nothing to do with it, other than botching the Covid response.
The economy would be in a lot better shape right now if he just got that right, but you do know that the economy has nothing to do with the stock market, right?
Apparently not if your post is serious, and not sarcastic.

What would you have done differently? And why isn't the stock market a reflection of the economy as a whole?

Oh boy.

averaging 15.5% over 10 years means that if you started with 1000, you'd now have 4225, not counting reinvested dividends or capital gains.

He didn't botch anything...the haters did.

Feb. 2020 Pelosi said there was no crisis and that the Prez. was trying to create one, she then took to China town and invited everybody to come meet her.

When he wanted to restrict incoming from other countries to protect the USA citizens; the haters fought his travel ban, calling him a racist and a xenophobe.

The haters fought his immigration policy since day one.
And the whole time the media just stirred the pot so sheep buffoons like you could sleep at night.

Prez. was on COVID response since Nov. 2019, and any time he mentioned something, haters like you manipulated words, changed stories, flat out lied...
ie.
fish tank cleaner
inject bleach
come start a riot at the capitol

What are you saying about pedo Joe your savior allowing all the unvaccinated into the country...he doing a COVID test on them?

What has your return been for the last 10 years?
I've had 28% years in past administrations.

I would have not tried to time the market so much and stayed fully invested through the highs and lows.Timing has worked well and other times, not so well. All told, I'd be better off if I didn't, but I just chalk it up to enjoyment. A hobby, if you will.
Rebalancing is something that I did and still do.
As long as interest rates are low and there is money flooding the market, stocks rise. That has nothing to do with the economy.

15%, year over year, not 15% for 10 years.
Compound interest.

1.155^10=4.225

that's what i did. said you averaged 15.5% for 10 years.

15.5% return for a 10 year period is below poor.

You're doing it wrong.
Compound 15% over 10 years.
I'm somewhere over a quadruple the way you're doing it.
