Even the hearse got shot!

The shooting happened about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Serenity Funeral Home in the 4200 block of West Fond du Lac Avenue.

Acting Police Chief Michael Brunson said the victims ranged in age from 24 to 48 years old.

The victims were taken to the hospital and were all listed in stable condition.

Brunson said he believes they were all expected to survive their injuries.

Their names have not been released.

Police are searching for an unknown shooter.

A source told WISN 12 News there were potentially 100 witnesses.

Children were among those at the funeral.

Brunson said the shooting took place during the funeral for a homicide victim killed earlier this month near Interstate 94 and 35th Street.

Investigators have not released a description of the shooter.

They spent much of the day at the scene collecting evidence.

"This is am untenable situation," Brunson said. "This brazen act that was done in broad daylight is unacceptable in our city. We are working feverishly to try to identify who committed this act."

A limo outside the funeral home appeared to have bullet holes in it and windows shot out.

Witnesses said they saw people ran out of the funeral home bleeding.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett arrived at the scene after Brunson spoke to reporters.

He described the crime as a drive-by shooting.

"The insanity of people solving their problems with guns. It's just completely insane. And we're seeing way too much of that in this community this year," Barrett said.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call Milwaukee police at 414-935-7360 or Crimestoppers at 414-224-TIPS.

From the Jounal Sentinal newspaper:
Cedric Guy, owner of Serenity Funeral Home, said he was in another part of his business when he heard gunshots around 12:45 p.m.

"Once we heard the shots, we called 911," Guy said in a phone interview. "We shut everything down. It just went crazy from there on."

Guy estimates the number of mourners at 100 for Braxton Taylor, 26, the victim of a Sept. 17 homicide. Taylor was shot to death, his body discovered in the 200 block of N. 35th Street. His slaying is unsolved.

I'm not seeing any BLM references in the article. Am I missing something? :confused5:

You can bet blacks were the only ones involved. In middle Ga, I don't even have to see the pics of the perps anymore. 99.9% them killing each other, and whoever gets in their way, like the Patels that own all the convenience stores. BLM is a crock.

Ohhh I see now. Of course we all understand that there will be no riots or protests for these people. Because the truth is, only CERTAIN black lives matter. The very few that fit their narrative. :spdchk:

Black Lives Matter, only when a nonblack pulls the trigger. When it’s a black shooter at black targets....crickets. Unfortunately the overwhelming majority of black shooting victims were shot by another black person
