These are some of the better shots from my recent trip to the Smoky Mountains with the wife. While the state park is beautiful to say the least, the sheer amount of tourists there make enjoying that beauty a chore at times. 10 million people invade the state park/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville area every year. The traffic at times and parking can be a major PITA and this wasn't even a weekend while we were there. If you want to see some of the falls and other scenic attractions in the park without 100's of other people climbing and milling about you'll need to head into the woods before dawn!

The wife and I did find many places alongside the park road where you could pull over and dunk your feet in a cool mountain stream and I took my fair share of time-lapse-blurry-water kind of shots at a few of those spots. :D

Crowds can be such a paint [make that "pain"]when you are trying to get good photos of a location. Nice job keeping them out of the frame. And love the smooth water in the water falls. Were you using a tripod?

Nicely done!

I packed a pocket tripod with me in order to get those shots. Some of the exposure times were over 6 seconds. Those woods are a dark place even on a sunny day. Being surrounded by mountains puts natural light at ground level at a premium.

Negative... forgot to bring my banjo with me so we skipped that portion of the trip. :D
