"My Cousin Vinny" ranks pretty high on my list of all-time favorite movies. Typically, lawyers don't like lawyer movies, just like doctors don't like doctor movies, because they're so technically inaccurate. For instance, lawyer movies show a lawyer addressing the jury in the middle of the trial: This is simply not allowed--you get to address the jury during opening statement and closing statement...and that's all.

"Vinny" is very technically correct; in fact, many law schools use the movie as a teaching device to show how to qualify an expect witness, as D.A. Trotter tried to refute Lisa's qualifications as an expert auto mechanic in the movie. The American Bar Association's publication, the ABA Journal, ranked the film #3 on its list of the "25 Greatest Legal Movies.

I missed 2 that don't have anything to do with the movie. The one about the possible sequel & what country he would be practicing law. Also the one about what other film he won an Oscar for while filming MCV. :slap:
