Thanks to each of you and your Clubs for participating in this year’s NCM Parking Lot Banner program! The banners were hung early last week, just in time for what was originally scheduled to be the Michelin NCM Bash. We are looking forward to when we are able to reopen to the public, but in the meantime hope each of you are staying safe at home.

Photos of each banner along with a map is available online here: https://corvettemuseum.smugmug.com/Banners/

To download your photos, just hover over the image and a down arrow will appear in the bottom right-hand corner. Click that to download the image.

For those of you who had a 2019-2020 banner, as of right now we are hoping to have Bash May 28-30, and if so – they will be available for pickup at the event. We will also have them available for pickup at the Anniversary event in September (or anytime you might be planning a visit outside of our events). We try not to ship the banners for two main reasons: 1) In years past, UPS would lose about 10% of the banners. 2) With 72 banners, it can be labor intensive and costly to ship them all.

If you want your banner shipped now, we are happy to do that for a $20 fee to cover a portion of the shipping cost. Any that are not picked up by this fall we will automatically ship at no charge. To have your banner shipped now, please call Pam (receptionist) and provide credit card and shipping info by phone at 270-781-7973.

Thanks again for your support!

Will be picking winners for this years banners!

:dixie:

If you donated to the banner fund, every 25$ gets you an entry to win a banner. If your name is drawn, and you decide you do not want the banner or that you have won one previously, I am happy to re-draw a name from the "hat" to give someone else a chance to win the prize

:cert:

Good luck everyone! And thank you from the Barn as well as from the Corvette Museum for these donations.

Great pics!

Am I the only one that thinks we could use a "logo" update? :leaving:
Compared to the other banners we're looking a bit under the weather.

Did I just hear you volunteer to design a new logo? :bigears:

I actually like the simplicity of our logo, nothing distracting from noticing our website on the bottom.

If there are new submissions for the logo, we should all get a chance to vote on whether to replace or not. We don't want to suffer our own 'New Coke' debacle.

Would be fun, maybe we could even vote someone off the island as part of the voting. :dixie:

And we're all going to nominate each other, to be voted off. :D

You will likely win if I have anything to do about it

I won the other year and had you auction it off. If I would be so lucky to win again, YOU can decide whether to auction it off again or redraw. Funds from auction to be donated to something worthwhile :yesnod:

:iagree:

Looking at the page of all banner photos, the vast majority I couldn't even read the club names or text without enlarging the thumbnail. Most are far too cluttered, use too much, and/or too small of text.

Ours on the other hand; Big, bold simple text, very easily read from a long distance away. I believe that's the primary purpose of this form of advertisement, and in that regard it does stand out when compared to most of the others. In fact, the ONLY other one that really caught my eye was the first banner pictured, the Bluegrass Corvette club banner. Even more plain and barren than ours, with a pleasing choice of colors.

I wish I had the image file of ours, I'd certainly experiment with changing the color scheme a bit. But otherwise, I still like what Bucky designed for us. :seasix:

Yep. That was the whole idea. Most car clubs have somebody with a copy of Microsoft Publisher and an old CD-rom of clipart and they throw the entire mess up there. I thought we needed something you could see across the parking lot and that highlighted the address so people might check out the site.

And it was done back when Vettes all had round taillights, so yeah, maybe a little dated.

I'll see if I can find the old logo files, likely a couple of laptops ago, and get you some files to edit. These were done in Adobe Illustrator.

can't change it too much, or these cutting boards won't be correct anymore.
