i'm sitting here in traffic and there is a POS Honda in front of me..

With one of those tribute stickers on it...

If I was dead and one of my friends put my name on some shitbox I would be pissed amd probably come back and haunt their ass. Maybe its because i'm a car guy..

Whatever..

Nothing like honoring the dead with a cheap vinyl decal. :D

I was behind a sh*tbox Toyota Camry on the way to work this morning that had about 5 "tributes" covering a total of about 90% of the back window. I almost took a picture and after seeing this thread I really wish I would have.

There are plenty of loved ones that I miss but I will never understand this way of expressing it...

Fastguy 03-11-2011 9:38am

Wow, you guys at least see stickers. Around here, its white shoe polish, keepin' it classy!
Nothing says "honor thy dead" like some smeared white shoe polish on your clapped out camry.

There is a flip side of this. I had a client at my old job that had a son that was killed by a drunk driver. Him and his other son did a complete resto on the C10 that his son that passed owned. Its a real quality truck too.

That's how it should be done. Not just slap a $5 sticker on the window of some clunker..

Meeko87 03-11-2011 9:54am

They are up there with people who have these stickers on there car.

not everyone can afford a fancy car, some don't even want a new car...

i fail to see the issue with it being on what you deem to be a pos.

now if you have an issue with the concept, that's a different story. i see them in memory of stickers every now and than. big whoop.

 I was thinking the same thing, if only I invented these stickers and those damn stick on vent things.

jaxgator 03-11-2011 10:16am

Whether it's a POS or high dollar car doesn't matter. I think it's stupid either way.

I told my wife that if we ever get an SUV (which is simply a disguised minivan), that I should slap a single adult male sticker with about 8 adult female stickers and 23 children stickers.

Mormonism for the win!

Seriously, though, anyone who puts those on there as anything other than a joke should be shot in the face for being lame.

Utah plate. Completely unsurprised.

Never understood that tribute crap.Something else that I don't care for is the dam crosses and flowers on the side of the road, that's what a cemetery is for.

SLO C5 03-11-2011 11:41am

Those tribute stickers and busted up late '80s/early '90s Hondas are very prevalent in the Latino communities around here.

Due to their breeding program, eventually Christianity will consist only of Mormons and Catholics.

We have some of those in front of a local McDonalds where some dumbass walked out in front of traffic a few months ago. They're still there.
