We're Getting Close To Eggs

Any day now we should see eggs at the MN DNR nest. These two have been busy. For the technically curious; 100-400 Canon with 1.4 teleconverter for an effective focal length of 560mm.

Flying in with some new building materials.

I checked the live feed on the nest camera. Did not see anything of them but will keep checking it! Thanks for the heads up! :seasix:

Awesome shots Thomas! :beadist:

How do you tell which one is which?

I've been watching this nest for three years so it's fairly easy for me to tell who's who. Besides. Mom is banded Dad isn't. Dead giveaway. :D

Awesome, Thomas. Need better adjectives.

Do you sense they are just used to you being there? Very cool to be able to watch this develop.

Thanks for sharing with us.

This nest is located about six blocks from Downtown St. Paul and maybe 400 feet from a heavily traveled road. I'd probably call them urban Eagles.

I honestly don't get down there but once a week. Nest building means lots of trips back and forth with sticks. In an hour they'll come and go a half dozen times. A three second shutter burst yields 20+ shots so there's usually enough to choose from.
