Dipstick Cleaner
I came across this in my father-in-law's car as I was getting ready to sell it after we moved him into a nursing home. How many of you have one of these and use it on a regular basis? It can be mounted under the hood for easy access.

My on board dip stick cleaner has always been a greasy rag wedged in the engine bay. Pics of the fancy, store bought dip stick cleaner?

Never seen one of these before!? Cool.

Damn, what'll they think of next?

you do have a windshield cleaner recapture and filtration system on your car, don't you?

Under-hood dip stick cleaners were very popular before the advent of the PCV system.
Cars burned/lost a lot of oil due to engine design, and monitoring the oil was a necessity compared to today. The cleaner was designed to promote the consumer to check oil without fear of getting oily/dirty, and sold at gas stations, and some were even used as free promotional items. My buddy has a box full of promo cleaners is the only reason I know this.... |
