TCM & ABS light
 

I have a 98 c5 and recently the traction control and abs light is coming on. The light only comes on when i get up to interstate speed. if i am driving around town i have no issues. I pulled the codes which dam they come out fast took me about three tries to get them all down. I am not sure if its gonna be a quick fix with a speed sensor or something that might be costly. This is my first Corvette and i am trying to keep my dash clean. The Car only has 73,000 miles on it. If you can help or have any suggestions please send them my way.

I have a 97. Checking codes is sometimes a two person job. It does go fast on the codes. Have you cleared the codes and then re-checked the codes yet?

When checking codes you can press the OPTIONS button and go into manual mode. This way you can scroll through them at you own speed and take your time.
As for your problem, start by checking the electrical connections for the ABS module. They can work a little loose, or get dirty and cause problems. Also check the grounds for the ABS and TC system.
That's where I would start looking first.

Thanks for the help with changing the codes to manual I had no idea you could slow them down. I am going to reset the codes today and check some grounds as well and see what happens. Could a tire pressure monitor have anything to do with affecting the TCM system. I wouldnt think that it would but I know everything communicates with other components. Again thanks for the help and I'll post what I find

Not that I'm aware of. As far as I know the TPMS only monitors tire pressure. Let us know what you find.

Charge battery, and check battery with a load test. If weak, replace.

The C1226 and C1233 codes are both faults of the RF wheel speed sensor, and are what's triggering your dash lights on.

I'd start by removing the wheel, unplugging and inspecting the sensor wire connector at the RF hub, they are known to corrode and/or loosen and cause this.
It's unlikely the sensor itself is bad, but I believe it's function can be tested with a multimeter. You have to replace the hub assembly if it is bad.
The other most common cause is the EBTCM module itself, which unfortunately, I believe is an obsolete and impossible to find part for a '98.

The four C21xx codes are the tire pressure sensor codes, unrelated to the ABS warning problem.

Thanks guys. I got the trouble shooting procedures for all codes on the C5 corvette from a friend of mine who works a at Bosch
He told me they are the same procedures that the mechanics use to diagnose an issue. I am gonna shoot the wires this weekend for the speed sensor and hopefully that will be the issue and not the ebtcm. I can spread these procedures around if anyone needs them it breaks the codes down step by step and tells you what wires to check and what resistance is needed for the part to be good or bad. Pretty useful if your good with an ohm meeter and can read a wire schematic. Again thanks for the help and I will fallow up after the weekend with what I found.
