LEMON PIPERS
Ohio band: interesting story; record label wasn't getting sellable songs from the group after signing. They gave this song to the Lemon Pipers - which the band hated it; didn't want to record it. Record label said... do it - and pretend like you like it - or you're history. Quote:

I keep finding, not new bands, but songs by bands that I dismissed earlier in life and only heard a few of their tunes.
One example: Speaking of local bands, my brother was the original bassist for Whiplash but left the band 6 months before they recorded their debut album. Thrash isn't my taste in music but a few of the guys were damn solid musicians. We used to party with the drummer Tony Scaglione who went on to drum with some big local name bands as well as some fill work for Slayer. |

Canned Heat - On The Road Again (1968)

I really didn't get into music that much until late in high school. So the only 60's type band that I liked, and only one album they made, Manfred Mann's Earth Band Solar Fire.
