Looking to paint the shutters on either side of the up and down windows.

Wife says paint them black, I am open to suggestions. Photochop skill for added bonus points

Given it is grey, I'd go with a deep blue. I'd paint the door the same color.

Have a lot of white trim there, maybe a medium or a little darker gray, and the door too.

Rodnok1 09-08-2021 9:36am

Dark paint fades quickly, personally i think black would stick out badly since only 2 sets being done. A lighter color I'd say or leave white.

This. And yeah, it looks weird with the door that doesn't match or go with anything else.

Pic from today....

You can see, the shutters are looking weathered and they are only three years old. Also, I replaced that blue furniture we had out front with a nice set, but you cannot see that now that the bushes have grown so much.

Thought about just taking them off and not having them?

This is the correct path. I mean, only two windows have shutters? WTF? Isn't the full name of exterior shutters "storm shutters"? Maybe expecting a storm to hit only two windows.

Rodnok1 09-08-2021 10:58am

The bottom set kinda looks like they belong, the uppers stick out IMO because only set.

Yeah kind of funny that that window treatment is only present on 2 windows. :confused5:

Only two windows on the whole house have shutters - why not just get rid of them?

put more on the rest of the windows first
