Never good to hear bad news. Stay strong for the family.

Two weeks ago yesterday we buried Mom’s remains, and Dad stood up strong and addressed us all. And now he can’t stand up at all. Very quick decline.

Damn, sorry to hear of this Douglas. Let us know if there's anything we can do.

My next door neighbor had the Priest read him his last rites yesterday. I went over today to give them a card and his wife said he isn't going to make it. He was in Hospice at home. Four hours later he's outside and came back in and had dinner. wtf? :wow::island14:

briefly talked with Dad this morning, he was very weak, doubts he'll see tomorrow (we have aides getting the house set up for him going home tomorrow, that may be a pointless exercise), and my other sister should be landing in Cody in another 30 minutes and will go straight to see him.

he has a family that loves him, you can't ask for much more than that. and per his wishes, he'll leave a nice inheritance for his kids.

and off to Hospice we go.

Hospice folks took care of my FIL ( Mary's Dad ) and they are truly Angels on Earth.

They will take good care of him.

I had hospice for my Mom. I took care of her and she lived with me until the end, but having the hospice nurse checking in on her really helped. That's what they do for a living, and they're just as much about helping guide you through one of the worst things you'll go through in life as they are helping the patient. They'll help you guys adjust meds, and make the other decisions that need to be made.

I really feel bad for you Doug, because I've been exactly where you are, and it friggen' hurts. You're lucky enough to have family. Lean on them....lean on each other. And lean on us here, your dysfunctional other family of complete weirdos that aren't suitable for polite company.

Sorry to hear this. Glad the family is around and supporting each other. Mom was also cared for by Hospice and it was a true blessing for all of us.
