Venison IN the grill
 

Got a call at 5:50 am Sunday morning from my wife. As she was going into work, a deer committed suicide by running into the front of her 07 Tahoe.

She's fine, the deer , not so much :D

Busted grill, shattered bumper cover, broken headlight and missing driving light. As an added bonus, the service air bag warning is on the dash readout and the airbag light is lit. The airbag did NOT inflate.

Used the State Farm app to verify the claim and so far, it seems to be working well.

ZERO deductible as it involved an animal.

Make an appointment at the body shop tomorrow.

I hit a deer last spring. Took out the grill, fender, and hood. Cost over $8k.

Edit: Plus the headlight and fog light.

Hopefully she threw it in the bed and it's stew time.

Damn.... glad Mary is alright. Any pics of Bambi? Did you get any meat out of the deal? Venison jerky is excellent.

No recovery of the dead deer. Mary drove over it with both driver's side tires. Think "burger in a bag" :ack:


No damage to hood, fenders, windshield or radiator.

Total from State Farm is currently $1445.82 based on the pictures I sent using their app.

Bergey Collision in Franconia PA will be doing the repair. :cool1:

They found additional damage, don't know exactly but State Farm approved an additional $14xx. bringing the total to almost $2900

One vehicle sucks ( yes, we can get a rental for 20% but it was only supposed to be a couple days :cuss: )
