Well now if I ever live to be an old man
I'm gonna sail down to Martinique
I'm gonna buy me a sweat-stained Bogart suit
And an African parakeet
And then I'll sit him on my shoulder
And open up my trusty old mind
I gonna teach him how to cuss, teach him how to fuss
And pull the cork out of a bottle of wine

My parent's bird would tease the dog by asking if she wanted to go outside.

Also did a Tarzan yell, laughed if you laughed, and some other things I have forgotten. That bird hated me.

My sister had a grey and she and husband went away leaving their 3 sons home....they walked it and the grey said ...**** you you asshole ! (two of the boys hated the bird because the bird would bite them

Many years ago two of our friends owned and operated a Greenware factory and made these,I was so impressed with them when only one was done they finished them and gave them to me !
They are now 48 years old and sit up high on a fireplace shelf at my daughters house.

Yup. Mine would do the beeping of the microwave and answer the phone when it rang ("Hello"). It would also call our cats (Here kitty kitty).

Sometimes, she'd slide down her cage (had perch on top she could use when not locked up), walk across the floor to one of cats and either nibble on their ears or tail. She never bit them or me but wouldn't tolerate my wife :D

You just reminded me. My parent's bird was a lobby bird at the vet clinic and when they first got the bird, every time the phone rang it would say Hello followed by the clinic name. :Jeff '79: That trait went away after a year or so.

Sometimes "having" is not as good as "wanting."

40 years ago I had a Nanday Conure. Not an overly large bird at all. A few months later, I gave him back to the guy I bought him from. Was never a bad bird, just constant work, cleaning.

Never again.
