I love how they churched this thing up in the ad. Sorry, but I still just see a piece of shit kit car with an anemic 305. If someone dumped this hunk of crap off in my driveway, I would be pissed.

1982 EXCALIBUR SERIES IV PHAETON

"The Excalibur Series IV...the most looked at production automobile in America. It exudes power without arrogance, beauty without conceit, and continues to be the standard by which all others of its kind are judged. The four passenger Series IV Phaeton carries on the tradition of combining the nostalgic styling of the Mercedes Benz classics with the technological expertise of modern engineering. Production of the Series IV will be limited, as it always has been, to assure exclusivity and protect the buyer's investment.

The Excalibur Series IV... a triumph of function and style, durability and beauty, that could never be misinterpreted as mere luxury. Everything about this automobile bespeaks the dedication to detail and quality that go into the creation of each component, from the hand layed-up fiberglass body to the all stainless steel exhaust system. The series IV is powered by a General Motors 5 liter, V-8 engine coupled to a three speed Turbo-Hydramatic 400 transmission and conforms to all federal and California emission standards."

Finished in Classic and Highly Prized Artic White, with Saddle Tan Leather Interior, Saddle Tan Soft Top, and White Hardtop. This Exquisite Motor car has been enjoyed by just (2) owners from new, & has been meticulously maintained, and has traveled only 20,000 original miles from new.

Just as the Duesenberg was known as the "Car of the Stars" in the 1930's, Excalibur's were known as the "Car of the Stars" in the 1980's. Well known owners of Excalibur's include Sonny & Cher, Tony Curtis, Dick Van Dyke, Dean Mati, Jackie Gleason, Jay Leno, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and George Foreman. Phyllis Diller owned four.
If you have Dreamed of owning Only the Best, this Magnificent Excalibur will meet your discriminating requirements. It is Absolutely Pristine Throughout and garners all the "Oohs and Aahs" anytime out. It is an Absolute Pleasure to Drive!!!!

I remember when our local Chevrolet dealer had one sitting in their showroom. The salesman said it was "a Corvette underneath."

Have seen a few of those around, and yes, a Huggy Bear special.

Now this has a Corvette underneath, minus LS1. :D

His neon ranch was in East Aurora, the town that I just moved from.
I never went there, but the stories that I heard were over the top.
