There are so many out there, Littmann is the brand i've heard but don't konw which one. Though there are other barnds for sure. Can anyone me up with a link to a good one for a new nurse?

You can't go wrong with a Littman.

Try Before You Buy

Take it from the husband of a Nurse. Get her good bricks. She's going to be on her feet a lot.

This.

I'll do just as well with a disposable stethoscope in an isolation room as I would with an expensive one. Can't say the same about shoes.

The Littman stethoscopes are the best and there are different price ranges. Just make sure she doesn't use alcohol base cleaners or the tubing will crack over time.

We got my mom one of their monogrammed ones for Christmas. She already had good shoes.

If she's been in nursing school, she's already spent plenty of time on her feet and probably already has the proper shoes.

Clinical hours in nursing school are nothing compared to the shifts they'll work when on the job.

Because, as we all know, shoes don't wear out.

In my wife's case, she specifically had to go out and get new ones to adhere to the hospital's dress code. The ones she had while getting her B.S.N. didn't qualify.

I'm glad that's not the case where I work. It's nice being able to wear pretty much anything as far as scrubs and shoes go.

That depends on the job. My wife has been a nurse for about 35 years, so you don't have to tell me.

Montehall 03-14-2011 2:09pm

I heard nurses like crocs.

They just require white shoes around here. Most nurses wear sneakers.

The hospital where my wife works did recently crack down on the scrubs, though. Some of them were getting a little crazy.
