Finally dropped the wheels for Powder Coating (Hampton, VA)

So I finally dropped off my 2004 Zo6 wheels for a nice gloss black powder coating here. They are even painting the center caps to match, not PC of course. I will keep you posted when they are done and installed!

I'm pretty happy! Much thanks to Advanced Custom Coatings, Tread Quarters Hampton, and Amazon.com for the lug nuts.

Those look great! Congrats.

Are you going to be at Waterside? I'd like to see your car in person.

I'll be there, although I think it looks better in photos than in person. :D

Naa, they drove by as I was shooting and didn't stop. There's nothing in the background worth worrying about. I'm sure people are taking photos of the static aircraft all the time.

I guess they don't worry about as much as they use to. I will probably do the same in a month or so. I need some non-driveway shots.

it may not be an appropriate question to ask, but how much did you drop to have it done (if i can ask)?

4DH8R 04-07-2010 8:23pm

Not a problem, I was quoted $85 per wheel total including the center caps. When I handed over the $320 he said "Let's make it an even $300". Don't know why but I was happy.

85corvettekws 04-07-2010 8:27pm

well thats not bad at all, i would have even paid the $85 a wheel. unrelated project, but i may have a front and rear tube bumper that i have to get to match each other. we'll see how close the paint is from the 2 different manufacturers.
