I'm having trouble visualizing this - can you take a screenshot, email it to yourself, and then post a link to the picture? :popcorns:

they look at your browsing history and offer suggestions

For example:

"Two Dwarf Trans Lesbians...

and one cup"

Start button -> Settings -> System -> notifications and actions -> turn off all notifications.

See what that does for you then email results to yourself and post up a link for us.

Try this. It hink what you are dealing with is the sidebar/action center... not to be confused with a swingers club.

1. Open Control Panel

2. Choose Security and Maintenance

3. Select Change User account control settings

4. Switch the toggle to Never notify

You mean like this? See the temperature display at the bottom right of the screen? If you put your mouse over that the "news" block pops up. Just keep your mouse away from that and you'll never see it.

Check this Gene... it will disable the screen Steve_R just posted.

Right click on the taskbar to display the menu below. Select News and Interests which will display the smaller menu to the left. Select TURN OFF.

I fought this trying to find in the system settings but it isn't there.
MS foisted this down on us with the default turned on a while back.

Hope this helps. It worked for me.

What worked for me was disabling automatic updates (no small accomplishment) because of crap like this. I manage my own computer, don't need or want a bunch of encephalitic dillweeds doing it for me.
