I guess I passed.

21 years in this house, we've never had a gator in our yard.

I wanted to pick him up so badly. But not a good idea. Patty has video of the little dude moving and making a b-line to the lake behind our house. So cool, and very happy phone takes non-Utah pictures. :hurray:

Man... With inspectors like that, I'd cross all of my T's and dot all of my I's to perfection ! :Jeff '79:

That you know of. :yesnod:

Common around here. Don’t bother them and they won’t bother you. :seasix:

That footer section of the pool cage is about 9 feet, so this little sucker is just a touch under 2 feet, or basically 2 years old. They grow about a foot a year.

I just laid on the grass within about 4 feet of him. He wasn't stressed at all. After pics were done, I left and he was chill.

Did you kind of wonder where mama was ?
My spidey sense would have been piqued if I were laying on the lawn near it.

I've had gator many times before. It's quite tasty. This little dude deserves to enjoy life for a bit.

My yard is 1/2 acre. There was absolutely nothing else in the yard. If momma was watching from the lake, it would have taken her a ton of time to get there, and Patty was watching and filming at the same time. But valid question on your part.

you didn't offer him some scotch? not very neighborly there.  :datawiz:

If baby gators don’t leave mama before two years she eats ‘em. Here’s a pic from a walk not far from our house. There’s a mama gator laying on the other side of the stream. We counted 11 babies on and around her. We left her alone. :D

He wasn't old enough. Wasn't going to contribute to the delinquency of a minor.

I was today years old before I learned why you put a cage around your pool.

We never stop learning, do we?

BUT, for more reality, it's about the bugs. :yesnod:

LisaJohn 04-15-2021 7:03pm

Does it keep snakes out? I don’t like swimming with snakes.

Cage keeps snakes out. :yesnod: I do need to install a sweep on the right-hand door. Until I do, one can get in, but now that the cage is done, so much less animals, bugs, and debris. Doing the foundation tethers next weekend. Will do the door sweep then too. Racing this weekend.

Gator too small for boots.
