A Barrel of Crude Oil Is Below $55.00 Again

Down 4.5% today and in free fall the past week.
I do hope that it is reflected in the prices at the pumps soon as we are paying $2.80/ gal. for reg unleaded.

That just means the price of everything will continue to rise. I don't get it.:sadangel:

How so?

There is a Mobil station up the street for me that hasn't changed their price in WEEKS. 87 is $3.79 a gallon. Premium is $3.99.

Everywhere else is way cheaper. :island14:

It will do absolutely nothing to lower the price of gas.

You sure they didn't go out of business and didn't take the numbers off the sign?

Nope. Funny thing is, I drove by it about 20 minutes ago and the place was packed. :wtf:

I filled up the Tacoma at Chevron down the street the other day and it was under $3.50/gallon.

I'm usually not one to shop around for cheaper gas, for example if one station is packed because it's a few cents cheaper than the one across the street...I'll take the path of least resistance.

But a 30¢ difference is fuggin 6 bucks in a 20 gallon tank, that's significant. :ohnoes:

Aerovette 07-06-2015 11:22am

I need it to be about $80.00/gal :seasix:

Three places I applied sent notice that the position posted was placed on hold. I assume it is because it is tied to the freefall.

Our gas went up with the last increases and hasn't come down at all yet. They always screw us over with the summer high driving usage.

MrPeabody 07-06-2015 12:14pm

Believe it or not, California dropped their tax on gas by .06 per gallon on July 1st. So of course, gas stations immediately passed .02 of that on to the consumer.:yesnod:

I always here stuff about it being due to the summer blend requiring more oxygenations or something like that. Get rid of the ethanol bullshit and prices will come down, too.

Jeff '79 07-06-2015 12:50pm

Pardon my mistake.

Down 6% ! !

It's now at $53.41.

C'mon $50.00!!!

Jeff '79 07-06-2015 1:32pm

7.7% !!
I have not seen a blow out bottom like this in a while.
It just passed through $53.00 to $52.97, and closed at $52.53 !

Wow.
Contrary to some of the comments posted here, fuel prices at the pumps will fall.

Question?
What was the cost of gas at the pump the last time a barrel of crude was 50 bux?

Jeff '79 07-06-2015 1:43pm

It reached $48.71 as a low in the past 52 weeks.
Here in WNY, the lowest that I paid at the pump was $2.87. We are at $3.80 as I type.

LATB 07-06-2015 1:50pm

I believe I remember crude at 50 bux in the 1980's and gas at the pump at just over one dollar?

I'm a pessimist but will do the happy dance and believe it when I see it (and then fill up the other 150 gallons worth of fuel tanks on my boat.
