What did you do to your C3 today? :D

Do any of you guys/gals modify or maintain your C3 yourself?

Made sure the battery tender charger was still showing a green light. Its under its cover and will not see any action for another 3-4 months at least.

The majority are undercover and charging now, a lucky few have the right conditions to enjoy. Winter is the season for mods. I hope to hear stories of modifications and maintenance. To all C3 owners, I salute you as you have the body style that intrigued me as a kid and led me to Corvettes today! :cert:

Speaking of battery tenders... Seems my old CTEK is on the fritz. I hook it up to the battery and the power light comes on, but the mode button does nothing and the damn thing never charges.

Is there a more reliable brand of battery tender out there? What do y'all use?

:waiting:

Not a damn thing I looked at it in the garage with the cover on it and the battery tender hooked up that's about it

We dot a snowstorm 2 days ago about 8" its mostly melted but the salting of the roads set the time-frame back .:kick:

My friend Pat and I got the differential seals installed, cleaned and painted. New diff cover is on and should be ready to be installed by this weekend.
Installing the VB&P GT rear kit now that the T arms are rebuilt. :D

Once we get it moving and stopping on its own, off to body shop! Hopefully will be driving it this year, FINALLY!!!!

Spring fever hit me hard today.Sick of being cooped up in the house so I threw the cover off the vette.Checked all fluids and any signs of varmints and turned the key.It fired right up without even touching the gas.:hurray:
Disconnected the battery tender and took it on a shake down run,it runs great after its slumber from October.Although I still want to do a tune up.
My son who now has his permit finally got to drive it and after just one drive "gets it" and knows that driving a vette is special. He likes the way it handles and has that smile on your face when you drive it.

I (FINALLY!) got one of the seats done, I've had the leather and all the supplies sitting in boxes for greater than a decade I'm sure!

Hopefully I'll take much less time doing the other, waiting for Rouquin to get ready for them!

And took for a little shakedown run down the street!
Steering is loosy-goosy, but needs an alignment of course.

Brakes good, man did she want to run! Gave some gas, she jumped a little, gave her more and she practically leaped! Got up to 2nd and turned around, back to garage. Fans aren't hooked up yet, didn't want to overheat already!

Preview of good things to come!!

More progress! Top off, 1st coat (black lacquer) almost all off, down to previous respray (badly done) of yellow, with spots of original yellow showing through.
Gotta get down to the primer/base fiberglass before conducting repairs (doors, rear valence, etc.)Attachment 47130

She's being primed (1st) this week! And I spent the weekend working on the marker lights, turn signals, etc. cleaning and putting back into shape.

Got the new sidepipes in too (Allen's), should be quieter than the current pipes! Plan to have them custom fit/cut for use with the block hugger headers I have.

Moving right along! :D
