There's been a lot of cold case bodies getting dug up for DNA examination. They don't even need the DNA of the murderer to find out who it is. A relative who has done a DNA ancestry check gets them close enough to figure it out. In some of these cases the perpetrator was a suspect when the crime happened, but they lacked evidence. Once they have the DNA the case can proceed.

Thirty three years is no problem. DNA has been sampled from Wooly Mammoths. How long they been dead?

I thought I mastered Gene-speak, but apparently I have failed. I have no clue what he said. :willy:

BS, after 33 years, there is nothing left in that coffin.....might find a rotten bone or two, but that's IT......ROT takes it all.....

Got a link. The only 33 murder of a young boy I find is from Georgia.

I watch Forensic Files occasionally, it's amazing how they solve cold cases.

VITE1 07-25-2021 8:13pm

Is this the case?

"Had twice been convicted of child molestation", they should have thrown away the key then.

Yes, for the most part it IS......but considering the bugs/water/temp variations, weather, how in hell can the body be intact ??

It doesn't have to be intact. As someone else already noted they've been able to retrieve DNA from fossils thousands of years old. 33 years doesn't destroy DNA or other evidence.
