Got to vent: Stomach pain is back...

I'm the one with random stomach pain attacks that no doctor so far has been able the cause of. It's debilitating pain near my stomach that wraps around my torso and makes finding a comfortable position impossible. It usally lasts several hours and then eases, although I'm drained by then. I can then have a drink and eat as normal. I'm also still drained the next day.

I've had every test known to man, all with "no significant abnormality" as the result. I just wanted to vent to help take my mind off of it.

Get well soon man. How long has it been you have had new tests run? Something new in meds or something may find this?

:cert:

I wish it were that simple, even though dangerous. MRIs and colonoscopies have found nothing.

Checks reveal that isn't the cause.

How weird. I get the same thing and mines been hurting since lunch today. :willy: I've never had it checked out because it's always gone the next morning. What a coincidence.

BB, you may know the answer to this. Do humans get twisted intestines like horses do and causes them to colic? Although I don't know what a horse feels during colic, I know it's bad.

I'm sure it can happen. Colic in a horse is any stomach pain, not just a twisted intestine, but surgery is required when that happens. Funny thing though, when I get whatever this is, I call it colicking.

Spence, your stomach pain is a lot like the McRib sandwich.....it sucks, and it appears periodically, for a limited time only.

Don't have any diagnostic skills so all I'll say is that I hope your doc(s) can figure it out and it's not too serious

One question...how long has it been since you have taken at least a week off and disconnected from the job, etc?

I haven't taken a week off in ages. However, I do take days off on a fairly regular basis now that my daughter can cover for me. I really don't feel stressed from my job.

Grey Ghost 08-28-2014 7:52pm

Have you tried going to the ER when it occurs vs. after the fact? Any specific physical activity that could have twisted your intestine?

It's totally random when it happens. Doc says that any abnormality would show up even after the fact.
