2001 convertible
Ok, I am looking at different years and have located a 2001 convertible with 101,000 miles on it. and a 6- speed trans. Cosmetically it looks very good. I am imagining dealer prep. But IF i were to purchase this with this type of mileage what can I expect mechanically? Will anything need to be replaced soon? Suspension wise? I grant you each car is different and mechanically it depends on previous owner(s) but would like to go into this open eyed and not be caught off guard by maintenance whether it is scheduled or not. When looking at a 2001 is there anything specific to this year to check out? Thanks for helping in my search. |
Does it have adjustable sport suspension? Those shocks are pretty salty to replace when they go bad.
Other than that, there isn't anything year specific for the 2001's that you wouldn't look for in other years. First thing to do is to check the codes. See if there is any problems there. Then check the grounds for excessive corrosion. As far as mileage, I wouldn't be all that concerned as long as maintenance was kept up. These cars can go a lonnnggg time. |
2001 convert.
Thanks for the input. The dealership is asking $16,000. I am sure due to the lateness of the year and wanting to clear the books he will take some less. How much, no clue. But seeing as I am on Christmas break due to no school ( bus driver) I am sure I will be checking it out.

13000.00 max is what I'd offer if it checks out ok.

Thanks, Sneaks, appreciate it. Was not sure of an offer price but will use this.
