It's around 2-3 mm in length.

I just took another pic and it's hanging from the bottom of the upside-down jar, as though from a strand of spiderweb that it just spun. The jar is clean and unused.

Could it be a spider?

I had an entomologist at the local Pest Control company tell me it's definitely a spider, and not a tick or <shudder> a bedbug.

He wasn't sure which species it was, but he was certain it's a spider.
