C7 Discussion by Crazy C4 Owners

Lets talk about the C7.

One thing I see on this video that is weird. The base C7 FE1 has no rear sway bar. :confused5:

Digital interiors, it resembles the late C4's interiors.

I don't care about other's opinion, it does looks like the Camaro's tail lights.

Electronic diff will be the shiznit. I had an Evo for a minute and that electric diff really helped it tune understeer/oversteer as needed going into any given corner. basically it firms up the LSD or lets off to get the torque to whatever side it needs to be on the most.

I'm liking electric power steering for daily driving plus it frees up the pump and hose mess off the front of the engine. I've already had two cars with it (one traded away for my current DD). They feel good in corners imo.

the syncro rev matching on the manual trans will be great because I have a hard time with heel-toe and tend to jab the brake pedal a little too much when rolling my foot over. I say let the software do its thing and I'll work on trailbraking with the exact pedal pressure the car needs at that moment.

I don't care about the taillights. If it is a sales bomb and there is leftover stock, it will make it just that much easier to negotiate a better price at the dealership.

Seems most don't like the rear tail lights, but they are slightly different than a Camaro. They are okay in my book.
About the sway bar in the rear: do you think they designed the chassis to where it may not need one?
Is it still using a Bose's sound system?

Round tail lights would not look correct with the overall sharp edges and accent lines. They fit the styling.

I like the interior- agree it resembles later C4's, and since I like my 94...:seasix:

Overall impression - very cool car, and leading with technology that's affordable (for that market) is :seasix:.

First things first, got to finish the interior on the 71. :hurray:

I like most of it and would love to give one a test drive. Don't care for the rear end (including the Camaro tail lights). I really like the interior and some of the improvements to the suspension and power are pretty cool. I won't be able to fully decide on the looks until I see one in person.

Like most, I think the tail looks like a Camaro that got rear ended. I love the new interior....very much so. It will light years ahead of what it replaces. Enough to make me part with $60K plus?? I think I'll keep my trailer park Vette.

Yep, even Mrs Rat concurs, too many angles, but ROUND tailights should be a continuing thread in corvettes!:seasix:

C4fan 01-16-2013 4:45pm

I can see it now at CF. A future thread: Has anyone ever put a C7 dash in their C4.

Either people will get used to the ass end of the C7 or it will end up being a 1 year style like the 2002 'bugeye' WRX subaru (they changed the headlights after one model year).

DukeAllen 01-17-2013 11:27pm

I finally decided what that rear reminds me of, even more with round taillights.

:iagree:

I'd say GM has time to make changes before production.
