Moving out of BFE next week

After spending 4 years in N. Central Iowa(Mason City), I'm moving to Cedar Rapids after accepting a job at the much larger and better equipped community college there (Kirkwood). Enrollment is close to 15,000, and there are over 3000 students in the math and science wing.

Much better facilities, no packrat office mate, and a chance to live in a decent sized metro (Cedar Rapids by itself is 100,000, and the whole area including Coral City and Iowa City is closer to 400,000). The only metro bigger in IA is Des Moines. Better access to concerts, culture and the like without ridiculous cost of living. Also, better chances for my wife to find work.

The only draw back is that I'm a Cyclone fan in Hawkeye land, but I may end up taking some classes there anyways.

Apparently Hendrix68 lives there as well.

You can definitely tell what they produce there by just opening your window. :lol:

They did offer her a part time position teaching this fall that I'm hoping she takes while she's looking for full time work.

Well now that's encouraging. Haley our oldest took a PT position 2 years ago with UNCC and now she's the head of the dept. Hope that Trina's opportunity turns out the same. :thumbs:

Good deal man, I've been to Cedar rapids many times (with my old job) got a good friend that lives out that way, if you are into hunting or fishing, he's always up for it.
