It only took 28 years...

Wife was a registered independent since I've known her. She's NEVER voted Democrat, and yesterday she renewed her license and changed her affiliation to Republican. She's so effing disgusted with what the liberals have done with our nation.

the 21st century Democrat party is the exact opposite of what it was in the mid/late 20th century. A lot of lifetime democrats are no longer able to support what's been going on these past 20 years or so.

I quit being a Republican when New World Order Bush was elected and screwed Reagan's legacy. I identified myself as Libertarian for years, but kind of gave up on them with bullshit candidates like Bob Barr. I'm a 100% Trump supporter, and voted straight ticket Republican for the first time ever in 2016 and 2018.

I'm not yet ready to call myself a Republican again though. There's lots of Romney/McCain/Bush types that still have sway in the Republican party that I just can't support.

I don't vote in primaries here because you have to identify as a party member. Screw that. :seasix:

Dan Dlabay 02-06-2020 2:16pm

If President Kennedy was around today he would be a Republican. The Democratic party was a lot different back in the day. Now it is a made up of a bunch of socialist losers who hate America and President Trump. I use to be a independent but now a Republican and support President Trump 100%:cert:

You're doing the Lord's work, sir!:flag:

Romney made me leave the Republican party when he ran against Obama and I registered Libertarian.
I switched back to Republican because Libertarian candidates suck and I wanted to be able to vote in Primaries again.
I'll be honest, I wanted nothing to do with Trump in 2016 and that was the first time I even hesitated to vote R for president. I felt a little dirty walking out of the booth.
I was wrong.
I will gladly vote for him this fall.

I agree with your sentiment. We are stuck with a two party system and we need to make the most of it. I am a die hard limited government constitutional Conservative. What that means is I want government doing what the Constitution says and no more. It's not its job to help its citizens or legislate morality.

I vote for anyone who wants to limit government more than the other person. Regrettably the Republicans lean more in that direction by many are infected by their greed for power and it pisses me off.

Anyone that want more government programs and spend to fix the problems caused by government programs and spending is insane or ignorant.

Good on her. Anything is better than a Democrat.
Independent myself, a tad on the conservative side.

Had a prospective club member that moved from CA, he seemed genuinely interested in joining. One of the guys was chatting and mentioned most of the club members are pro 2A, right leaning conservatives...........he disappeared. :D

I read Rush Limbaugh's Wiki page and realized I am whatever he is...but without the money, fame, access to airwaves, etc.

We align very much politically and in general attitude.
