You guys see the 60 minutes piece on the BP disaster?
|
Yup :yesnod:
The worker they interviewed pretty much gave them all the info they needed and that guy doing the investigation said flat out "It's BP's fault". Sad thing is that after they are hit with the fines and such it will all boil down to the cost of doing business and things will go on as they always have. |
I don't understand people that try to minimize this thing by saying stuff like "oil being released into the ocean is a natural phenomenon...it happens all the time, all over the world." :confused5:

SELL SELL SELL.. if you had stock

That interview probably has the Messiah all hyped up, not to be friendly anymore to oil companies, soon he will own them allhttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...s/55425421.gif

this is what happens when the last administration had people literally in bed with the industry. they were getting high & shagging their brains out in the name of unregulated capitalism.one of them got knocked up & is still in place at her job. we need to clean house in Minerals Management.too many Bush appointees still in there. :yesnod:

One of the main reasons this happened ….not following tried/true written procedures AND arm chair inspections of critical components……….no different that the nuclear industry.
Da boss says "Stay safe & follow the procedure............w/o slowing or stopping production" :yesnod: Lets see.......... a novel idea Write a procedure Train them Assure the training works Tweak the procedure or the deck plates for actual correct working conditions as needed Have IDEPENDANT inspectors inspect, write up the ALL finds good and bad, and have the company act on those findings……….I think the regulators will be in the hot seat very soon as well Just another case of not leading by example and the “do as I say, not as I do” mentality of some folks |

We're a month into this thing and all we have is a bunch of finger pointing Cabinet Secretaries saying tsk, tsk, tsk... Three days after Katrina, Anderson Cooper, Brian Williams and all of CNN were broadcasting live about the lack of response as Coast Guard helos orbited overhead and Hospital ships anchored in the Gulf. Obama has made more progress on his golf game since the explosion than he has on the utter destruction of the gulf coast by one of his largest campaign contributors. |

And don't tell me a government that can put a man on the moon, take over the largest corporation in the world, and assume they can do health care better than the entire insurance industry, can't plug a hole in a pipe a mile under water. |
