Geek question......

I'm having trouble viewing streamed video on some sites. HD seems to be the ones. Old style video plays fine. The audio comes in fine, but the video is stop action jerky, one frame every 2 or 3 seconds??? it's very hard to watch anything like that. :(
Anyone? hardware or software? :bigears:

Do you have an option to view these videos in a lower quality setting that won't tax your system? i.e., maybe you can't watch 1080i without issues, but maybe you can watch the same thing in 480i?

how old is your system?

What version of Windows?

If XP, defrag your hard drive.

I've purchased two refurbished Dell computers from this ebay seller and highly recommend them. alesissolutions | eBay

Both were dual core Intel processers with a fresh install of Win 7 Professional. One was $150 shipped and the other $180 shipped.

Sounds like your PC is just old. Specs? How fast is your connection?

It's high speed, forget the actual speed, but I'm wondering if I can update my vid card or download something to make it view HD vids better? they always try to prompt me to download this or that, but I'm very leery of that shit. Even some Utube vids go pixilated once in a while when you watch.???

This is all greek to me::bilmem:

AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+
1.67 GHz, 960 MB of RAM

...and I'm only using about half the system storage space.
