''Where's your shooting place of choice?''
My back yard. Have a SAFE up to 100 yard range right behind my house. It gets used a lot in the good weather by me, the wife and on occasion my adult son who lives about 5 miles away. Have a big picnic table at the 100 yard firing point and a couple small portable tables we used when closer for pistol shooting. In the cold snowy weather its not used much, but I belong to 2 gun clubs (about 25 miles away) and the wife is a member of two other clubs. Two of the clubs have heated indoor ranges and as were are retired for the most part no one there but us when we go 8-4 Monday to Friday.. I'm a 50 year NRA life member, (actually a Patron level now!) :D |
Downtown Oakland.

I have that same folding table I take with me when we go shooting a two different friend's places.

We are fortunate here in northern Phoenix to have the Ben Avery shooting facility. Very close by me and cheap - about 7 bux for as long as you want. Outdoors, but covered where you shoot. Love it.

Wife's house is maybe .5 miles from a shooting range that has been there since maybe 60+ years now, but the joint has been all built up around it, but there are the huge mounds of ammo and dirt for backstops, and gunfire is all day every day.....burb or not, around it....:seasix::hurray:
the necks maybe RED.....but they got staying power.....lotsa .mil types there too.....I went there with my Benelli H&K 8 shot 12 ga.....and rapid fired, they don't like that......oh well, the gun werks fine...... :seasix: |
300 yard range at the hunt club. Pistols inside at a very nice facility less than a mile from the house. $20 flat fee, shoot as long as you wish. 1 target provided with range fee, I think new sets cost $1.50.

I am a member of the local fishing/gun club. Covered pistol and rifle ranges. ( at the benches / shooting area) Pistol has two areas both to 50 yards. Rifle has target frames at 25, 50, 100 and 200 yards. We can shoot at 300 yards for special events but the three station trap shooting can't be used during that time. ( it really pisses them off too  )
You can see the 25, 50 and 100 yard target areas. the 200 yard is behind the rifle range sign. That also has pull down targets suitable for NRA High Power Competition at the 200 yard pit. https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...1.png~original http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...3.png~original |

As far as shooting, I go to a range by me that most of the local LEOs go to. The young yahoos with their hand canons tend to stay away. That or we shoot up at Mom's house up in the Poconos. A very gun friendly area. Scott |
