Dizzy/blackout....??

age 75 here, and for sometime now been getting slightly dizzy for a second or two, not enough to cause any falling/pain, just a distraction, and a slight loss of balance, only notice it when standing/walking, not in bed or setting here on the puter, lounge chair....where I spend too much time....

the arthritis is bad, spine and even between shoulder blades, slightly lower, and in middle of chest I get a twinge that is directly in front of the one in back in the spine....

BP is pretty consistent at ~135/80 or so over the last few daze.....I did have a scare on BP being 210 something over 120, but been on med every evening for about 1.5 years now.....Losartin 100 mg 1 tab long about 8 every night....causes drowsiness......I also take Tamsulosin .4 mg for prostrate so I can pee more normal.....again causes drowsiness.... so one tab same time.....

about 2 daze ago, I went to get up one morning I sleep on my right side mostly, and straightened up, blacked out, right side of neck/shoulder/head got odd feeling, and I fell over on right side, eventually rolled over in bed on my left side, for several minits, then got up feeling numb on right face/etc....

more I moved around I felt more or less normal, except for dizzy once in a while....but not the one second bursts I used to....

next morning, like this AM, got up more slowly, and rolled over before it did for a few seconds.....everything seems normal....

but the arthritis still a PIA....ibuprofen and I got some of that super beta prostrate on a 'free' sample.....which helps with the peeing a bit more.....

anyone any clue as to WTF is going on??

go to the doctor and get checked. today is best, this week is good.

Orthostatic Hypotension.

Can have a number of causes, including medications. The fainting isn't necessarily the danger, but the falling can cause great damage.

Get it checked asap.:seasix:

The wife (retired RN and cardiac pro on her third pacemaker and a veteran of just about every heart med ever made) says it could be a reaction to the Losartan, even though you've been taking it for awhile. Her doctor just took her off of it because he said there's been a recall. She doesn't know the details, she just stopped taking it.

Something you can do right away is when you get up, get up slowly. If in a prone position, don't go to standing right away. Rest a bit in a sitting position before standing up. Do it slowly in stages.

I'll send you the bill at the end of the month.:D

Sometimes generic drugs have different sizes, shapes and color. They just fill your script with whatever they have on hand. Happens to me all the time.

It doesn't sound like this particular problem would be causing your symptoms, but the larger issue is any drug comes with a list of possible side effects. Ask your doctor about it. I went through several different Cholesterol drugs in varying doses before we found one that didn't cause something.

I have tried all sorts of CBD/Mary wanna pills/etc for pain relief.....no go, worthless for ME....

Good luck.....

I also have a tube of Diclofenac Sodium topical gel....for arthrongus and it does not work, hands are better off with Aspercream....overnight relief pretty well overnight because I don't have to bother washing it off while me snoring....

FWIW my father had similar symptoms and it turns out he wasn't drinking near enough water because of the diuretics he's on and didn't want to be in the head every 30 minutes... well he was badly dehydrated. He's on PRESCRIBED water intake now and has to pee a lot but he seldom falls down any more unless he cheats on the water intake.
Something to try and see if it helps.

INteresting, especially since I live in Floriduh, with a tem/water index totalling 200 recently, I drink maybe 3-4 MUGS of coffee every morning, and around noon a tumbler of some fruit flavored water and munch some lunch, then switch to same 12 oz tumbler of ice water and about 5-6 of them during the day....depending on activity.....so I would imagine I have plenty of liquid intake, old beer drinker here average 6/day switched to 80 proof/water/ice later on, no beer or damn rare, and then gave that up too, maybe 2-3 years ago.....did not notice any particular change except the sharper artherongus pains.....

I was discussing this with a friend who takes enough pills he knows most side effects.
First thought he had was the prescription (pills) were wrong... Might not hurt to both Google the pill and or talk to pharmacist. He gets wrongs pills couple times a year (dozens of scripts).
The one BP med they had himmon had horrible side effects for him including dizziness. He suggested talking to doctor as didn't sound good.

Makes me wonder if I didn't screw up and take two of the BP meds so 200 mg instead of 100, got out of routine one night and now I wonder......I forget to remember the stupidist shit, walk to the tool box for instance, and forget one critical tool out of the handful.....that kind of crap.....

:issues: but I been back to normal now the last two daze, even managed to fix two pesky issues on the vette today.....110% humidity and ~85f soaked up a T but good....briefs too......

I have 2 suggestions for your memory/pill taking issues as my friend takes so many and I use to call him and ask every night if he remembered them(has brain issues).
One make sure to use a pill caddy(i use one just for migraine pills) and two there is an awesome app for pill reminding which has helped him a ton.
Medisafe pill reminder and medication tracker (i will verify this is one he uses). He uses free version. Kind of a pain to setup initially he said but worked wonders for him.

As for forgetting tools and stuff.. Who doesn't do that.
