I raised you better than that!....kids > UGH!

Do you have adult kids that you wonder WTH they are thinking?

Times have changed, I was driven to make my parents proud and "Do right my them". I was devastated with the "I am disappointed in you!" glare.

Kids these days simply don't GAS. :thomas:

Who cares about parental approval when you have thousands of peer "followers"?

And children have been "elevated" to adult status by the media.
One of the reasons I disliked shows like the Simpsons, even though I was virtually alone in that camp.

They show kids talking smack to their parents and in the following years that trend continued in many movies; the precocious child that knows better than any adult.

How about "are you smarter than a 5th grader?"

All appears cute on the outside until the results rear their ugly heads.

One of the reasons we don't watch tv and are very picky with what movies/cartoons our kids watch.
We also expect them to address adults with "Mr. or Mrs."

Both of my kids are very respectful, they learned that by example. My son will get up from his seat at a restaurant to open a door for an older couple, good kid. :seasix: I help older folks load their groceries and put them in their car at grocery stores. Learn by example, pretty easy concept.

How my boys, as well as I were raised.

Like a switch got flipped and all the years of developing to be self sufficient, respectable, appreciative, responsible, God-centered, selfless individuals went out the window :popcorns:
