Selling my 96
Well the time has come to part ways. I have a late model 96 (built in June 96) that I'm selling. Reason? My daughter started college this past fall and it's costing me $1500/month, and since it's just my wife and I, at this point and time in my life we don't need 4 cars for 2 people. I'm still driving the car once a week, usually on Monday's, until I can sell it.
I have it posted in Craig's List for the Inland Empire and in the Corvette Forum. Never had so much fun driving this car, but I know I can always pick up another vette in the near future once my last kid is on her own. I'd like to thank Pete (PRLX) and Dan (Fritz) for all the help they have given me in the past. Without them, the enjoyment would not be as great. For Pete, loved those bomber runs with other C4's. I will still be around here at this site. Almost forgot - thanks also to Bryan (RedLS1GTO) for his expertise also on some PM's I sent him. |
An of the wall question but do you fix computers also?

Yes I do fix pc's on the side - it's more of a hobby for me. My regular salt mine job: Calibration Engineer for a medical device company. I actually was in management for 10 years, but with reductions the last 7 years, last year they removed me from management and moved me back to a hands on job which I prefer. The management experience was...well...an experience.

have you had any broke-ass tire kickers yet?

This is probably a bad time to sell. Oh well. |
Hope you get your price(or at least close to it!), and it all works out for your family!

Murphy's Law.... If you decided to keep it, they'd be crawling all over your place...

I think it's sold. I have a guy coming from Las Vegas tomorrow. It's a 4 hour drive so I'm sure he's going to drive it home. I sold it for $7k even with 106k+ miles on the odometer.
During this time of sale, I could not believe all the scammers out there wanting to buy it. I had one guy call me wanting a description of the car, even though it was clearly posted on Craig's List with lots of detail. As soon as he wanted to know mileage, he said he can sell it in 2 weeks if I send him $200. Yeah right. Piss up a rope you crack head. I know one thing...I will miss it. It was a blast to drive. |
Mine took 90 days to sell for $6500 and 89k miles (it was a purple 95 6-spd). 4 people actually came to look at it, but the number of people who called wanting to trade for abused trucks or who talked my ear off to only offer $1500 less than it was worth was amazing.
My buyer came 500 miles to get it because it was a really fair deal. Nobody in SoCal has ca$h money and your experience just proves my point even more. |
This is funny. Guy shows up with this wife. He loves the car but she does not like the color - white. She wanted green. WTF? I spoke to the guy on the phone 5 different times about the car, and even sent him some high resolution pictures of the car. I would have thought that she new the color was white. His only comment on leaving was he was going to discuss it further with the war department (wife), but I doubt she will let him buy it. Anyway, the spent about 10 minutes checking the car out then left.

Too bad. At least the guy knows that she's the one who kaboshed the deal and it only cost him 8 hours of driving time!! Hope it's a noisey ride home!!

Next time talk to their wife/gf/bf/goat :funny:
|
Pussywhipped. He should have told her to shut up, make him a sammich, and bend over.
