Phil's (SilverVert) Internment
10 Attachment(s)
My best Corvette buddy and his wife Pauline were interned at Arlington National Cemetery yesterday. The 3rd US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) did an outstanding job, a very memorable and emotionally moving experience. I don’t tear up much, but when Taps was played, I had a tough time holding it together.
His family invited members from his Corvette club, which was an honor for us to be there. Photos really don’t do the experience any justice, if you’ve been to an internment, you know it is an event you’ll never forget. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3rd_U....(The_Old_Guard) |
Taps will get you every time.

May they rest in peace and be blessed by God.:sadangel::halfmast:

This is the version that will be played at my funeral.

Thanks Norm for setting this up. It was an honor to attend this. 🇺🇸

I came into this hobby at a younger than average age, so I've been through many of these. Had a ring-side seat watching friends in this hobby decline in health, listened to their regrets in life (a la 'I wish I had taken more time to enjoy life', etc), and said goodbye while I could. It doesn't get any easier. That being said, I decided a while back that I just can't go to funerals anymore. Just too damn hard. :sadangel: |
Two friends and two relatives by marriage in Arlington....

That looks like two stars presenting the flag. Your buddy must have carried some rank.
