Replacement truck battery suggestions?
need to head to town later and get a new truck battery for my Chevy. original is 6.5 years old. group 48, 615 CCA is the original specs.
aside from AC Delco, any suggestions on ones to look at or to avoid? likely head to Pep Boys or O-Really, as both are in town. my dad liked Interstate last time he needed one for his old GMC, and i've heard good things about them. thank you to the collective. :grouphug: |
I have the Optima red top in my truck and used the same in my Corvettes.
|
Just buy a new truck. It will come with a new battery. :leaving:
Personally, I would not use Interstate as I have not had good luck with them. YMMV. |
I do the gold Autozone ones. Free replacement for 3 or 5 years. I just keep taking them back right at the end of that warranty.

not only cheaper, but better...... :seasix: |
You're pretty much getting exide batteries with different labels and warranties or you're getting interstate. Pick the CCAs, price and warranty you want and go with it.

Ihave bought several batteries in the last few months. WhaI learned is that you don't use cheap trickle chargers on them. I now use noco and some other similar brand.
|
I stopped using Interstate batteries since none of them lasted over 3 years.

ended up at Pep Boys, got a Champion AGM battery. 48 month warranty. that'll work. made in Mexico. Si!

Optima Yellow Top in my Truck, still have the OEM Motorcraft Battery in the Ferd Mustang.

if i can get 5 years out of this one, i'll call that a win. 6-1/2 out of the original AC Delco. the clerk was surprised at that. i was hoping it would last thru the winter. nope. |
