stupidity knows no bounds ... but, it owns a plow truck

So, here in South Bend we have been getting lake effect snow for a few days. Last night I ran the snow blower over the drive but, it continued to snow all night. This morning I shoveled the walk and front porch before taking the kids to school and going to the office.

At lunch I went home to eat and what do I find ... my driveway has been plowed. Strange but, I do know a few guys with snow plows so, I'm thinkin' who do I owe a beer or two.

I noticed that there is a guy plowing the neighbors drive and he sees me get out of my car and stops what he was doing and comes over to where I am. He proceeds to tell me that he was paid to plow the neighbors drive and he mixed up the address and mistakenly plowed my driveway.

He then, has the nerve, to ask me for $40.00 which, apparently, is what he charges to plow driveways.

I declined

I have a plow and used to do driveways when I lived in the burb. If I was dumb enough to do the wrong driveway I would say to myself it’s on the house my mistake.

If by chance I did see the owner of the wrong house I did I might say to him "I goofed" but now that you see how good a job I do would you like to hire me for future work.

as far as you know, that was me.

please mail me my check...

My guy only charges $18 but after the first heavy snow this year he did drive all over my lawn and put huge ruts in it as well as ripping up about 30 sq ft of sod and removing 2 sprinkler heads.

I shoulda went with a $40 guy.

My last winter up north was with 4' in my driveway....gave the house away, and moved to Florida.....

I would have paid him $10.

I'd have told him to charge my neighbor $80. :D

I can just see the guy saying to himself......My F-up, but there's no harm in asking. I don't blame him, he might have got lucky.:seasix:

How it should have gone down:

Snow Plow Driver: Excuse me but just thought I would let you know that I’m the one who cleared off your driveway. I apologize but it was my mistake, I got the wrong address. Sorry.

Luke: Thank you for letting me know, sorry about the mistake, how much do you usually charge?

Snow Plow Driver: Usually $40.00 but it was my mistake, you don’t owe me nothing.

Luke: Hey, at least take this $20.00 for saving me the time, gas and trouble.

Snow Plow Driver: No thanks, just wanted you to know who.

Story ends.

Must be a long driveway to charge $40 and using a truck.
