The last day my youngest ever attended public school was the day the school threatened to have him abducted from my home by force of government for being tardy. As I recall he was late 3 times. We'd push him out the door 15 minutes before the start of school but for some reason he just didn't feel like walking a city block in that amount of time was a priority. Well **** them! They weren't going to get away with that. I was loaded for bear.

You can't wait until it's too late to act. One day your kid(s) will simply not come home from school. I know a person this happened to.

When I moved outside of DC in 1998, Loudoun represented a professional, reasonably conservative county. It was where folks moved to get out of the BS of the District and Fairfax. I'm afraid that part of the populace fell asleep as certain portions of the county were going to crap. The upcoming election will be an absolute litmus test for how folks want their leadership to "lead"

I still live in NOVA and it is really going to hell... the problem is with the school board is that no one pays attention to who they are voting for. There is no party affiliation listed, and people generally vote on name recognition. They see a name that they have heard, so they voter for them.

Unfortunately for the school board (fortunately for the parents) the past year has shown the parents what their kids have been being taught, and they finally are taking notice. Hopefully that will show in Novermber..
