R.I.P........my son John
 

Last night my son John lost the battle he has been having with his demons with alcohol .....we could not get in touch with him so this morning I called the 19th precinct in NYC and asked them to do a wellness check at his apartment.
We got the call that every parent fears......he was dead. We have tried for years to get him help but the demons were more powerful then he or we were.
My son John was a good boy and a great man,anyone that knew him loved him....this Feb. 13th he would have been 47 years old.
We drove 2 hours into the city and sat with him on the couch for hours crying and talking to him....and because we are bringing his body home to NJ the laws were such that the coroner had to bring him to the morgue and maybe tomorrow the funeral home here will be able to bring our son home.
I am crying as I write this and angry at him for not trying to help himself. I feel most people here are good people and I consider most friends this is why I am writing this.....sorry for the long rant,I just hope my wife and I can get through this......hug your kids please.....even kids with no demons has a date.:sadangel::sadangel::sadangel:

That's really horrible; I'm so sorry for your loss, and what you're going through right now. You've got to stay strong now, and get through this, and I'm sure government red tape isn't helping.

This is terrible news.

I believe your use of the word demons is appropriate. As in I believe that actual demons get involved in such things.

I can't imagine the pain you and your wife are experiencing.

John, so sorry to hear of this, just terrible. You mentioned feeling angry. Don't feel bad about any feelings and emotions you have. It's normal and is a part of working through the grief. I learned it first hand after losing my autistic sister Jackie.

My condolences, so tough being a parent.
