Damn good thing he did with the ball. That kid will remember that the rest of his life.

The guy giving it will remember the free beer more than he would a ball that he got from a foul.

:cert:

I was watching the game last night and saw that happen. The rest of the night the Tiger announcers were mentioning protecting your beer from foul balls, especially after beer sales stopped in the late innings.

Looks like a good dude. Given that, shying away from a soft fly ball was pretty weak:rofl: Protect the drinks at all cost!

Good story up until the "reporter" starts his lecture:

Quote:

This fan can provide several lessons for fans going out to games.

One, we can learn from his mistake and not rest beers on the dugout. It’s tempting because it seems like a natural table and one of the ultimate perks of those seats. But if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Two, if something like this does happen, laughter is always the best medicing. This fan had a great attitude about it all. Finally, if you’re an adult at a game and you get your hands on a foul ball, you’re never going to wrong by finding a nearby kid and giving it to him or her. That young fan will enjoy the ball a lot more than you will.
Lets not even get into the editor of this article (bolded).:confused5:

Hey Michael Dixon, just shut the **** up with your opinion and report the story. We don't need a lecture on how to conduct ourselves at a baseball game especially from some two bit Northwestern graduate idiot liberal MSN reporter.

Keep the ball give me a keg.

TheHammer 08-05-2022 3:44pm

why didn't he try to catch it instead of backing up like a little girl?

ToolMaker 08-05-2022 4:45pm

Hard to say. I was at a Yankees game once, when a foul ball came right at us at 100+ mph. I chose to use my big fat body to block my son from being hit, and didn't even try to catch it. A guy in the row behind me reached over my shoulder, and the ball ricocheted off his hand, and ended up about 3 rows behind him where another fan got the souvenir. I admitted that I "pussed out" when talking to the guys behind me after the incident.
