Even if he was trying to commit suicide, it's not fair to the train engineer to put the engineer through the mental anguish and trauma of watching his train turn a guy into pink mist. So even if it was a suicide attempt, the cop still did the right thing.

Just another reason why we need the police. They not only go after law breakers but also save lives.:seasix:

Oh, I totally agree. I just couldn't help but to be a smart ass. This girl I knew from the military (she got kicked out for drugs) got wadded up by a Norfolk Southern train a year or so after they let her go. She just sat down and waited....:sadangel:

My FIL was a locomotive engineer for Conrail and later Amtrak. He said repeatedly that someone deciding to commit suicide by the train he was operating was one of his greatest fears. He knew other drivers who suffered huge emotional tolls from the experience

No sleight intended, really. While I was pretty anti police in my lead footed youth, I'm fairly pro police now, especially seeing the bullshit happening right now.
