How will you communicate when cell goes down
Anyone thought about how you will communicate when the cell towers are compromised and Internet goes black?
There’s a sheriffs video that got me thinking. |
About time you started thinking. What were you doing before?

re-activate my land line?
Otherwise, I look forward to it. I'd love to force the break in my phone addiction. |

Here's a coincidence: I just finished watching the movie "Red Dawn," which I've seen a few times but it's been many years, forgotten most of it. When I was young, yeah we were all worried about the Soviets invading. Not a problem anymore, we're being taken over from within. |
If society's going down, I've got nothing to say

With my radio. Y'all don't have a radio for backup?
License is cake. Many repeaters are on generators. Just get a damn radio and don't worry about it. |
With ham radio (and I run several linked repeater systems, all with backup power)
We also run a 5.8 gHz mesh system here in the Willamette Valley as well. Don't need internet, just air to breathe and food/water |
we'll just take it one day at a time and play it by ear
|
I'd go swimming & then the bar, all the while laughing at the rest of the world freaking out.
Note to self- Download some girl on girl action in case we lose the internet :fruit: |
I'll just hold up 2 middle fingers and slowly rotate my position so all can see.
|
With 5.56 mm. That will be all the “communication” that will be necessary.

VHF, UHF, satcom, FM, 800hz. Learning ham would be cool.

The cell service DID go down in the middle of Washington DC during the 9-11 terrorist attacks - I saw it personally. Even though the service was completely down people still meandered about with the 1,000 yard stare with their phones at their ears hoping to get through somehow. It was pathetic.

There’s a book called 2 seconds after. Read it. It will give you a realistic vision about just that scenario.
