It's all Yaddy's fault for not being able to spell "Porsche."

Actually I don't, although I know you're a good speller and there was a joke buried in there somewhere.

When I went to cancel/ renew my Sirius subscription, the guy on the phone was obviously in India. I gave him the radio serial number and he said "Oh, I see you have a porch makin'". I told him that yes, indeed that's what I have.

It's been a reliable joke with my kids. :seasix:

Rumor has it that by the 2025 model year, the steering wheels are expected to be attached to the front suspension. It is expected to drastically reduce the number of Fords hitting pedestrians, and entering homes.

And on America's race to the bottom:

I moved my retirement portfolio to Schwab in 1997, been there ever since.

The people on the phone have always been the most polite and helpful people you can imagine, and even during the dot Injun and Chink invasion 10-20 years ago, none of them had jobs at Schwab answering the phone. Everyone I ever talked to spoke perfect American English.

Well, until a few evenings ago when I called. The guy was obviously a wetback. Nice guy, but the accent was unmistakable. :(

I'd rather have a polite foreigner trying to convince me his name is Kevin than a rude American who struggles in their native English. You can imagine the level of talent an American call center would hire, basically the people even walmart won't hire.
I think filipino call centers are on the rise, the indians have graduated from call centers to actually being consultants.
I'd never do it but it's nice to think about how I'd live like a dictator in the philippines where the average wage is $300/month and I make more than that in a day, and I feasibly could do my job fully remotely.

I assume you're referring to Yaddy's experience, not mine with Schwab.
