Good deal or not? 2008 C6
 

I have a lead on a 2008 C6 BASE car, 1LT. Black on Black, Manual Trans, Cosmetically great for the most part. Few rock chips on the front bumper, that's about it. Interior is great, outside of a small scuff on the drivers side seat bolster.

Basically stock, but the owner has installed Z51 front and rear sway bars and Z06 Shocks and Corsa exhaust.

Under 30k miles, new tires were installed in January of this year. Seller works for at a GM dealership parts counter and says he has been anal on all maintenance. Asking 26k for the car. It is local to me as well.

A quick scan of Autotrader.com indicates that that prices isn't out of line. Seemed high to me at first blush, but the used car market has definitely appreciated lately.

If the car is local, go check it out. Price doesn't seem too bad, given the miles and today's used car market.

28K for a base car to me, is high. No heads up display. Etc… But, cars are selling for a premium now.

Personally I’d look for a Z51 2LT. The extra you pay is worth it.

He’s asking 26k

Regardless, I’ll be looking at and driving the car on Sunday, I’ve got the VIN for a Carfax check as well.

As previously stated, used Vettes are seeing some appreciation in value. If asking 26K, he'll probably take 24K. If you like it and checks out well after your initial test run, go for it. Good luck.

If you were smart you'd ask a used car dealer on one of the forums to run the VIN with all the other info and get the MMR info and estimated auction price. :thumbs:

Well that potential deal fell through. Seller has decided to keep the car. Finding a suitable car has been a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. Everything is either overpriced or roached. :island14:

Well that sucks. Often, when you stop looking is when you find stuff. :shrug:
